Harry,
I was 17 years old when I was reading your books (30 years ago).
You so often used Jean as a model in your drawings, and so frequently mentioned her when you told stories of your travels to exotic places, that I almost felt that I knew her.
To me, Jean was like the wife of my favorite 'teacher' during those times. I had perhaps developed a mild fondness for her (all in the abstract of course, since I knew neither of you personally).
Ever since I came across your blog, I've occasionally thought about asking you how she is, but I didn't because I didn't know the answer and felt it might be too personal a question.
Thanks for posting this memorial and her photo. You've answered one of my questions.

Thanks Vince for your comments. Jeanne was a very loving, supportive wife and I really enjoyed the years that I was married to her. I am fortunate enough to have a wonderful new woman in my life, Gloria, she's a great lady and a lot of fun as well, I'm a lucky guy to have run into two terrific ladies that are so enjoyable.
