Storyboard with scenes of Tokyo

A few more storyboard frames in which I had to use Tokyo, Japan as a background. I can't remember the client or ad agency, but it was a fun board to render. These were also 5 x 7" marker renderings done on high quality layout paper and had an overnight deadline. I pretty certain that these frames were done for one of my New York Clients.

Very nice. Were the white glow spots done with airbrush?

Hi Tris,
I painted the white spots with a brush, then used an airbrush to create a glow on some of them. This works quite well on loose renderings but you must be careful not to overdo it.

These appear so detailed! How long does it typically take you to finish a series of these?

Storyboards usually must be rendered rather quickly as most of these types of assignments normally have an overnight deadline. The very loose frames can be done in 15 or 20 minutes, these were tighter and probably took me 30 or 45 minutes to render. This field of the advertising business is VERY demanding and the deadlines can be brutal.
