I found a few more paintings from my realistic figure studies series from the exhibition at the Craig Smith Gallery in 2007.
DISTRACTION IN THE STUDIO
BLACK REDHEAD
MELANCHOLY MOOD NUDE
GLOBAL WARMING
A MODEL COMMENTS ON A PAINTING
These are all acrylic paint on canvas and range in sizes of 24 x 24" to 16 x 16". Most were done with a touch of humor and some of the smaller paintings are really studies for larger size works.

New Abstract painting
A new painting that I've been working on for the last few days. It's not quite finished, about 75% complete, should be finished by morning.
MUSE WITH MUSIC
I'm attempting to get even more abstract with these new paintings as I develop this series. It's fun to experiment with design, shapes and color, also a real challenge.
What music is the lady dancing to ? The old Terry Gibbs Dream Band of course !

Earlier figure studies
Recently I've been posting some of the new abstract figure studies that I've been painting. I thought I would show you a few of the figure studies that I worked on Previously. These acrylic paintings were exhibited a the Craig Smith Gallery in Harbert, Michigan in 2007.
HARRY AT WORK
Kind of a self portrait of me painting.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MODEL
I love the comic strip medium and employed that format for this painting, kind of a Pop Art feeling.
LADY GODIVA
Instead of a full figure, I show her falling off the horse and added shoes.

A sculpture and good news
The Harbor Country Pubic Arts Initiative has decided to construct and erect one of my outdoor sculpture designs. Often I would submit sculpture ideas to competitions in the form of wooden mock ups and this piece is one of them. Although I was never successful, they were interesting and fun projects to create. The HCPAI has already placed eight sculptures in our area and has decided to use this design as their next project. Below is a promotion piece for the project.
I haven't decided on the color of the final piece, white apparently requires a lot of maintenance and I am considering a bright blue which might work quite well.
