I loved the comic strip Buck Rogers when I was a kid, so I created my own version, a parody titled Captain Albania. It's a great way to practice creating images on the computer and learning Photoshop.

Another AirWar cover

On this cover I used an old ink line drawing which was copied as a film positive and then the color was rendered under on an illustration board, a great technique that I used ti use on many of my assignments years ago. I used to do newspaper ads for Chevrolet using this technique, it was great for newspaper reproduction.

New Comic Book Cover Parody

I found an old illustration sample and turned it into a new comic book cover. This sample illustration got me a few aircraft illustration assignments from New York clients in the 1970's.

I found an old recipe book for which I drew the cover for my daughter Lisa.

Bad case of gout !

I woke up this morning with a red,swollen left hand, my drawing hand ! Luckily, I use my right hand when working on the computer. Should be gone in a couple of days.

Aircraft illustrations

Two more paperback book cover illustrations from the 1960's. I always have been a fan of aircraft and started building model planes at an early age. I have an extensive collection of aircraft books that come in handy when doing an assignment like this.

This was a fun cover to illustrate and I used myself as a model for this painting which was done using Designers colors and acrylics.

50 years ago

In the 1960's I was a freelance illustrator in Detroit and was represented in New York by Neeley Mulvey Associates. They got me some nice assignments for me including a series of paperback book cover illustrations.
