A very sad day
Gloria's cat, Schnicklefritz, died yesterday. She had him for over 20 years. Gloria originally found him when she stopped and picked him up after he got hit by a car and took him to a vet. When he recovered she had a new cat.

Living with cats
I love my cats, Jpeg, Tiff & Laura, but they have a habit of waking me up at 4 am in the morning as they want breakfast. Then it seems as if they sleep most of the day until 4 pm at which time they want dinner, then they go back to sleep. They are great fun when they are awake, they often sit with me when I'm working on the computer.

More Plymouth catalog art

I looked on eBay and found the Plymouth catalog the I did illustrations for. I was freelancing in 1968 and got a call from Prucher Studios in Detroit, they were working on the 1969 Plymouth car catalog and said that the ad agency wanted me do the illustrations. It was probably one of the last catalogs with illustrations as the trend was going photographic. It was a fun job, a tough deadline if i remember correctly, as all of the assignments were in those days. I've posted some of these before, but never had the original catalog to scan, previously what I used was found on the internet at low resolution.

In 1948 I was working at Gray, Garfield, Lang art studio in Detroit, the paintings that I did for Ford Times Magazine while I worked at Allied Artist were getting a lot of attention from Detroit art directors. I began to receive national ad assignments from the larger ad agencies. I just found a copy on eBay of the 1949 General Motors Annual Report for which I was assigned to paint the cover. GM was starting to build the Tech Center and they wanted me to a rendering of what it would look like when finished. I signed the painting, but they sent it back and wanted the signature removed, a disappointment.
Below are a couple of my paintings for Ford Times. I started doing work for them when I was 19 years old.
