I decided to leave the word balloons blank and tease the reader. It seems to work pretty good. Again, having fun with the computer and Photoshop Elements 3.

I did a new comic book cover parody using an old aircraft illustration that I did for my book Art & Illustration Techniques. I'm trying to think of a funny caption to use, maybe I'll come up with one by tomorrow.

I've done quite a few of these comic book cover parodies on the computer. It's a fun way to practice with Photoshop Elements 3 as I am dealing with drawing, color, composition design and typography. Eventually I hope to present these images in book form.

A poster for Martha

Fritz and Martha Olsen are good friends and neighbors of mine. Fritz is a sculptor and Martha Cares is a singer who will be performing La Vie en Rose at the Riviera Theater in Three Rivers on Friday evening, July 12 at 8 pm. Ten years ago Martha called me during a snowstorm and said that One of the outdoor cats that I feed was at her door wanting to come in. I told her to bring him over. It turned out that I had never seen this cat before but decided to take him in as I felt sorry for the poor thing. Tiff has been great fun to have around with my other two cats, Laura and jpeg. Thanks, Martha for bringing him over. I decided to do this poster for Martha.

Comic book cover parody

As a kid, I always wanted to be a comic book artist. My high school teacher, Margaret Stein, steered me into the commercial and fine arts fields. I frequently create comic book cover parodies while practicing and learning on the computer, I've done over 200 of these just for fun. I have had some exhibitions of these prints in galleries and local museums. I may eventually try to publish these as a book. I've approached publishers but no response so far.
